Usually platformers like these aren't my thing because I always end dropping them or slowly losing interest. But given all the positive feedback for the game I figured I'd give it a shot.
I'm really glad I did. A Hat in Time is one of my favorite games I've played this year. It's bright, colorful, and adorable.
I really felt like the game nailed all the little things, and that's what made it great. It's clear there was a lot of care put into creating the game. Each character is meticulously crafted with their own sense of personality, and the animation and voice acting shows it.
I was actually excited and motivated to explore the game's world. Seeking out all the red stars where I could further interact with the world.
The game has an extraordinary amount of charm and personality. I'd definitely recommend it.
It's only real weakness was it's last chapter, which didn't feel like it had the same amount of heart put into it. But regardless, it was still fun to play through.
